The kids have learned a lot in a short amount of time! This week we learned about the following 3-D shapes: cone, sphere, cube, and cylinder. We learned that they have faces, corners, and edges. The kids finished making their super heroes and presented them to the class. I was impressed with their engineering skills! I am in the process of reassessing their letters and sounds. We read The Very Hungry Caterpillar and The Life Cycle of a Butterfly and discussed fiction and non-fiction books. Next week I will send home work to help with the ones they do not know. This week I sent home the Gum Ball Machine Behavior chart. This will give you an idea of your child's behavior over the past 10 school days. Blue= above and beyond behavior Green= consistently following all of the expectations, an excellent day Red= had to reminded to follow the class expectations too many times. Lastly, today the fabulous Dana Ross painted butterflies with us! Thank you to Season Eckardt and Alexis Shaeffer for donating watercolors to use when Dana comes. REMINDERS/UPCOMING DATES:
INDEPENDENT STUDY: Please turn in all paper work on Wednesday. It would be helpful if you cleared out the folders so that only work and books being turned in are inside.
HOMEWORK: The following assignments are to be done Monday-Friday
Thank you for reading and staying informed! Best, Mrs. Silski Comments are closed.

Mrs. SilskiI'm thrilled to be teaching my sixth year at HRCCS! I went to Chico State where I received a BA in Liberal Studies, a Minor in Latin American Studies and my Multiple Subject Teaching Credential. I taught 3rd/4th for eight years at a multi-age, project-based, performing and visual arts school in my hometown of Stockton. My husband and I moved to Auburn in 2007 to be close to the trails and raise our children, Robby (9) and Amaya (4). I enjoy painting, cooking, working in the yard, and eating my way through San Francisco. Archives
