The class hit the polls and voted for President! Duck beat Farmer Brown in a landslide. Perfect harmony and teamwork happened today and it was completely student-led. As the kids finished an art project they slowly filtered to the carpet and began building puzzles together. I just sat and watched with a huge smile on my face. I wrote down the words I heard.
"Everyone work together!" "When everyone works as a team, it's a good job!" "We need your help!" "As a team, THIS happens!" "We can do it!" "Let's work together as a team!" "This is awesome!" "Oh, can I please have that?" "Yes! Yes!" "Wow! You did awesome!" "You did awesome, too!" There were also lots of squeals and high-fives! I'm very proud of the growth in their cooperation skills. Mrs. SilskiI'm thrilled to be teaching my sixth year at HRCCS! I went to Chico State where I received a BA in Liberal Studies, a Minor in Latin American Studies and my Multiple Subject Teaching Credential. I taught 3rd/4th for eight years at a multi-age, project-based, performing and visual arts school in my hometown of Stockton. My husband and I moved to Auburn in 2007 to be close to the trails and raise our children, Robby (9) and Amaya (4). I enjoy painting, cooking, working in the yard, and eating my way through San Francisco. Archives
