This week we learned about bats, the main idea of a story and measured things around the classroom using string and unifix cubes. We also made monsters and bats, learned to read and write words in the
-og and -op families as well as the digraphs sh and ch. Caroline's mom came in and taught music to the class. They learned what an orchestra is, became conductors and talked about how music makes them feel. Thank you, Amy! I'd also like to thank Mathias's mom for coming in to do art with the class a couple of weeks ago. They discussed all the beautiful purple colors of autumn, mixed red and blue to make purple and created their own masterpieces. Thank you, Carmen! The class was very engaged during music and art. Today we had a blast parading around campus and trick-or-treating through Newcastle. We watched It's The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown and then enjoyed popcorn supplied by Lily's mom. Thanks Bethany! INDEPENDENT STUDY: Please turn in all paper work on Wednesday.
HOMEWORK: The following assignments are to be done Monday-Friday

Mrs. SilskiI'm thrilled to be teaching my sixth year at HRCCS! I went to Chico State where I received a BA in Liberal Studies, a Minor in Latin American Studies and my Multiple Subject Teaching Credential. I taught 3rd/4th for eight years at a multi-age, project-based, performing and visual arts school in my hometown of Stockton. My husband and I moved to Auburn in 2007 to be close to the trails and raise our children, Robby (9) and Amaya (4). I enjoy painting, cooking, working in the yard, and eating my way through San Francisco. Archives
