THANK YOUs
Thank you for all of the Box Tops! I think we might be in the running for a popsicle party! Thank you to Eun Lech for coming in to be a Mystery Reader. The kids loved it! Let me know if you'd like to be a Mystery Reader. We would love to have you! Thank you to Art & Priscilla Thompson for helping out with math centers and homework folders. FYI I'm looking for parents to help out during math from 10:15-10:45 on Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday. I've revamped my schedule a bit and am doing math centers now. Shoot me an email if you're interested. Today we met our 5/6 buddies and made wall hangings out of sticks and torn fabric. The kids did a great job and I loved seeing the older kids take their roles as Big Buddies very seriously. We look forward to doing more with them! What a great day today was! My highlight was taking off my teacher hat and spending the entire day with my son, Robby. We tackled the monkey course together and enjoyed some much needed quality time! I also enjoyed seeing the excitement and smiles of my class. Below are a few pictures from today and art with Dana Ross.

WHAT WE'VE BEEN UP TO We've been learning about the 5 senses and got to taste a sour lemon, a salty chip and a sweet zucchini muffin (Thank you, Max, for turning 6 and bringing in a sweet treat!). We made a graph of our favorite tastes. I got a kick out of taking pictures of them tasting the lemons. Not one, but two mystery readers read to the kids this week and they LOVED it! Thank you Hannah and Ginny! UPCOMNG DATES

Mrs. SilskiI'm thrilled to be teaching my sixth year at HRCCS! I went to Chico State where I received a BA in Liberal Studies, a Minor in Latin American Studies and my Multiple Subject Teaching Credential. I taught 3rd/4th for eight years at a multi-age, project-based, performing and visual arts school in my hometown of Stockton. My husband and I moved to Auburn in 2007 to be close to the trails and raise our children, Robby (9) and Amaya (4). I enjoy painting, cooking, working in the yard, and eating my way through San Francisco. Archives
