This week we have been working on counting strategies. They are count and scoot, count and touch and count and check. We use count and check when the things we are counting are on a worksheet like on the week's math homework. Put a check on the picture as you count so you can keep track of what has been counted. We are also learning about the teen numbers. These are tricky! We talk about teen numbers being "10 and some more." For example, 13 is 10 and 3 more. While reading The Relatives Came we learned to visualize, retell, and connect to the story. For art we made beautiful turkeys using oil pastels and water colors.
I have included four books in the homework folder for your child to read at home this week. We have read all of these books in our guided reading groups. Please read them each night for homework. It will reinforce the sight words we are learnings well as reading skills. REMINDERS:
HOMEWORK: The following assignments are to be done Monday-Friday

Mrs. SilskiI'm thrilled to be teaching my sixth year at HRCCS! I went to Chico State where I received a BA in Liberal Studies, a Minor in Latin American Studies and my Multiple Subject Teaching Credential. I taught 3rd/4th for eight years at a multi-age, project-based, performing and visual arts school in my hometown of Stockton. My husband and I moved to Auburn in 2007 to be close to the trails and raise our children, Robby (9) and Amaya (4). I enjoy painting, cooking, working in the yard, and eating my way through San Francisco. Archives
